From a project risk perspective, it is crucial to choose the right approach when it comes to balancing the functionality, user-friendly operation, regulatory compliance, and costs of the facility within a reasonable planning and construction schedule. Models and tools are presented and utilised in the workshop for the planning and design of a functional BSL-3 laboratory or animal housing facility that meets both the requirements of users and operators and the applicable legal regulations and best practices.
